On May, missed moments, and trusting the rhythm of life.

Last week was the first of May…

May Day — or Beltane, as it’s known in some traditions and circles —
a time of blooming, energy, creativity, and life coming fully alive.
And I so wanted to sit down and write something long, lovely, and meaningful about this special turning of the season.
I was reminded of something a friend shared with me recently.
She said,
“I want you to know… you are a really good writer.
You have a way of drawing people in right away.
I’ve read a lot of articles over the years — and some are really bad.
Yours? You really have a gift.”
So of course…the next morning I thought,
Okay. This is it. I’m going to write.
But life… had other plans.
A few days later, I found myself at this incredible little place —
a woodshop and antique barn less than ten minutes down the road.
And I left feeling so inspired.
It was one of those hidden gems…tucked quietly between the hills in the next town over.
Every nook and cranny filled with treasures —wood stacked from floor to ceiling, old doors, windows, fabrics, and all these little beautiful things that felt like they had stories to tell.
It was magical. And the bittersweet part?
They were closing…
selling everything… and moving out of state
And I remember thinking, How did I not know this place was here?
And also…I need to write about this.
But again…time passed

Then came May Day. And once again, I was over spilling with ideas and inspiration. I literally would go to bed with visions of sugar plum fairies, flowers, lace, and all sorts of soft magical images that seem to float in this time of year.
Even with a bit of a head cold slowing me down, I still found myself curating fairy garden pieces, Nature Spirit Habitats, and making Mother’s Day and May baskets.
Connecting with that beautiful balance of doing and allowing of masculine action and feminine receiving that this time of the year brings to us.
And still…that voice would come in:
You should sit down and write about this
But “that” moment never quite “happened.” Or so I thought.
Because you see I am here now…writing to you.
And I have to ask…Did I miss the moment?
Or is this the moment?
Here is where the letters from the hearth ask you to….
Take a breath here…

I feel like there is something here for all of us. A quiet lesson… maybe even a blessing…
around the story telling of time.
How we measure it.
How we chase it.
How we think we’ve lost it.
So here I am sitting here right now, telling you about the past situations, and scenes that have played in my mind to bring this information to you here and now in the present. Did I indeed lose out on that “ideal time” or is the time just right now?
Perhaps we arrive when we arrive.
Perhaps we dance when our song comes on. And perhaps…we are exactly where we are meant to be.
Is this where the magic lives?
Where we can feel the thread of where we’ve been…and the pull of where we’re going…
while actually still being here.
So I’ll ask You
Where do you feel like you’ve “missed your moment”?
Where do you still go back and replay what could have been?
Not to stir regret. Because honestly that is not what this is about at all.
Because nothing was really lost at all something else was simply unfolding in its place.

🕯 Candles Lit This Week
- Trusting the timing of things
- Moments that arrive in their own way
- The beauty of what wasn’t forced but simply was in Flow
- Letting life unfold instead of chasing it
- Being here… now
If you’ve been noticing this too…
this relationship with time, creativity, or simply finding your way back to yourself…
this is the kind of space I’ve been holding more intentionally through my coaching work.
A place to slow down, notice, and gently realign.
You can explore that here if it feels aligned:
The fire is still warm here.
Come sit whenever you need.
With love from the hearth,
Renee
Something I would like to leave here for you to ponder on is this simple question:
Do you feel as though you missed something recently.
or did it simply arrive in a different way.?
